The rapper died on the 18th of June 2018, after a fatal shooting that marked a sad period for his many fans. Ever since her son’s death, Cleopatra posts tributes dedicated to her son’s life and career.
Cleopatra’s Early Life
Cleopatra Bernard was born in Jamaica. Her date of immigration to the USA is not precise, though she spends her time in Florida. She was in a relationship with Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, who is also from Jamaica, and they married when they were young. Together they had two children, Jahseh Ricardo Onfroy, better known by his stage name XXXTentacion and Aiden Onfroy.
She had her first child Jahseh when she was barely 18 years old, and her mother, Collette Jones, helped raise her two sons as she dealt with personal issues. Allegedly, Jahseh nearly stabbed a man who wanted to attack her. Jahseh was only six at the time, and the incident led to his admission to a youth program before he went to stay with his grandma.
Cleopatra has a grandson, Gekyume Onfroy, son to Jahseh, and his girlfriend, Jenesis Sanchez.
XXXTentacion’s Death
Jahseh died at the peak of his career in mid-June 2018 when he was 20 years old. Her son’s death affected her, considering he was a pillar in her life and had even gifted her a car. She dealt with her son’s death by participating in charity events. She frequently posts tributes to her son on Instagram, where she has over 1.9 million followers.
Lawsuits
After her son’s death, Cleopatra has been the subject of many lawsuits, most of which involve her son. A notable one was when she contested Jenesis’s decision to seek a paternity test to prove that Jahseh fathered Gekyume. The court ruled in favor of Jenesis. She was also in a case filed against her by her step-daughter Ariana, where she demanded a $15000 payment after Cleopatra went on an interview and claimed her son’s murder was a planned one.
On The Anniversary Of Hеr Son’s Death
On the fourth anniversary of her late son’s passing, supporters of XXXTentacion reportedly drove thousands of miles to visit his Florida mausoleum.
According to Cleopatra Bernard of TMZ, X’s friends, relatives, and supporters gathered on Saturday at the late rapper’s South Florida mausoleum. The admirers apparently arrived on their own initiative because there was no organized ceremony in honor of X, who was shot and killed on June 18, 2018, in Deerfield Beach, Florida, while he was 20 years old and sitting in his car. Since then, Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome, and Robert Allen have all been identified as co-defendants in a first-degree murder case against Dedrick Williams of Pompano Beach. A trial date has not yet been decided.
Bernard claimed to have spoken with XXXTentacion supporters who had traveled from cities like Virginia and Los Angeles and had gathered early the next morning outside her son’s final resting place. She chose two of the admirers to accompany her for a candlelight vigil earlier that day when Bernard arrived at 4 p.m. to open the mausoleum for visitation.
