Early Life and Education
Tamar Estine Braxton was born in Severn, Maryland, on March 17, 1977. She’s the youngest daughter of Micheal Braxton and Evelyn Braxton. They had six children together.
In her junior years, she was a member of the church choir along with her siblings, and her father was the pastor in that church.
Career and Net Worth
In 1989, Tamar and her four sisters, Towanda, Trina, Traci, and Toni Braxton, had their first deal with Arista records.
In 1990, they launched their debut single, Good Life which did not turn out successful. They only ranked no. 79 on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles listing.
Furthermore, the significant age-gap among them brought up challenges in marketing their records. As a result, they fell out with Arista records.
The Braxton sisters were later introduced to L.A. Reid and “Babyface” Edmonds, producers who were at the time setting up their own record label “LaFace.”
Toni Braxton was the only one who signed into the label, and her sisters were taken in as backup singers.
Tamar Braxton later set out to release solo albums with Dreamworks Label. The albums, unfortunately, did not sell out much. And so Dreamworks discontinued her projects.
Even so, Tamar released several albums, including Winter Loversland (2013), Bluebird of Happiness (2017), and Love and War (2013). was her most successful album.
Following unsuccessful album releases, Tamar, her mother, and sisters signed up for a Reality TV series, Braxton Values.
The show premiered in April 2011 and continued for 9 years. She and her husband later spinned off their own reality show, Tamar & Vincent, in 2012.
Tamar’s net worth currently stands at $3 million. Apart from sales made from her album records and starring in reality shows, she owns a clothing line, “Tamar Collection.” From this brand, she sells shoes and the clothes she designs.
She and her former husband, Vincent, acquired a $10.5 million luxurious mansion at Calabasas, California.
