Simon James Honey, popular as Ben Dover, was born on May 23, 1956. He is an adult film producer, actor, and director.

He went to Borden Grammar School but did not complete his education due to expulsion. He later relocated to Newquay, where he earned a living by entertaining children as “Uncle Simon.” He also worked as a drummer for a cabaret band.

Career

Simon began his career as a musician before transitioning into adult films. He, however, loved to work under pseudonym names such as “Lindsay Honey.” He always thought his own name never fitted ‘the bill.’

He played the drum and keyboard for the “Ian Mitchell Band,” which was later renamed to “La Rox” band.

The band split in 1978, and Simon transitioned into adult filmography. In 1980, he started acting for Mike Freeman’s Videx Ltd. He was later cast in the Ben Dover series for seven years.

Simon is also well known for looking very much like Keith Harries.

Ben Dover is the stage name of English pornographic actor, director, and producer Simon James Honey. He has also worked as a producer under the name Steve Perry and as an actor and singer under the name Lindsay Honey. In the January 1999 issue of Hustler, Larry Flynt put Honey on his list of the Top 50 Most Influential Pornstars. In 2011, Honey was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.

In addition, Honey received numerous honors for the Ben Dover series, including the Breakthrough Award at the 1997 AVN Awards and two Best Gonzo Awards. At the UK Adult Film Awards in 2006, which he co-presented with co-star Pascal White, Kristyn Halborg, and Kelly Stafford, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Due to his involvement with his company Golden Eye in speculative invoicing, Honey was named an Internet Villain in 2012 by the Internet Service Providers Association.

Personal Life

Simon was formerly married to Linzi Drew, an adult actress and model. They had a son, Tyger Drew-Honey, who is currently a TV presenter, English actor, and musician.

The adult film star revealed that he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He’s currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
