The comedian’s legal name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney. He was born and raised on a pig farm in Pawnee City, Nebraska, in 1963.

He later followed in his father Tom Whitney’s footsteps as a guitarist and a minister of the gospel.

He schooled in two different schools for his high school. He learned from his father since he was a teacher in one of the schools he attended.

After graduating high school, he went to college at the Baptist University of America and the University of Nebraska. He studied drama and speech.
